Summary of Benefits

The City offers full-time and regular part-time employees the following benefit options.

Benefit Description
Health Insurance The City utilizes the WI Employee Trust Funds (ETF) State/Local Health Plan.  For regular employees, it contributes 87% (96% for police officers) of the gross premium of the least costly qualified plan within the service area.  There are multiple insurance providers to choose from.
Dental Insurance The City pays the full premium for a basic preventative care plan through Delta Dental for full-time employees (pro-rated for part time).  The employee also has an option to pick up additional coverage at their own expense.
Vision Care Routine eye exams are covered through the City's Health Insurance Option.  The City will also contribute $375 per family per year towards vision care needs.  Amounts unused at the end of each calendar year can be carried over for one additional year for a max of $750 for regular employees and for police staff.
Retirement The City pays 6.9% (14.3% for police union) of the annual wage into the Wisconsin Retirement System.  The Employee is required to contribute a match of 6.9% of their annual wage.  This amount is deducted pre-tax.  An employee can also have additional contributions made post-tax.
Life Insurance Employee Trust Funds (ETF) Life Insurance - The City will cover 50% (100% for police) of the cost of basic life insurance for the employee at 1 times their annual wage. Supplemental, additional, and spouse and dependent life insurance is available as a payroll deduction to the employee at very affordable rates.
Income Continuation Income Continuation is a voluntary benefit offered through the Employee Trust Funds. Benefits are payable at 75% of your average monthly earnings if you were to become disabled.  *At this time there is no premium for this insurance.
Accident Insurance The City offers a voluntary accident plan through Securian Financial which provides a lump sum cash payment after an accident.
Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)  The City will provide access to a pre-tax Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for medical and dependent care expenses.
Other Benefits The City offers multiple options for life insurance, deferred compensation, accident, short term disability, and more.  The City also offers $500 annually for the employee to use towards any of these optional benefits.  Additionally, police employees are allowed a uniform allowance and public works staff are offered reimbursement for safety boots.
Paid Time Off The City offers paid vacation: 9 regular holidays (10 for police) plus additional floating holidays (based on years of service), sick leave and other qualified time off such as funeral or military leave.
