Garbage & Recycling

The City of Dodgeville is pleased to provide high-quality garbage & recycling services through Faherty Inc. Recycling & Waste Collection.  Trash & Recyclables are picked up weekly with pickups split into three different collection days:  Wednesday, Thursday & Friday.   If you are a new resident to the City of Dodgeville,  please check the "Garbage & Recycling Pickup Schedule" listed below.  Locate your address on the map to help determine what day your garbage will be picked up.    Our current garbage & recycling rate is $11.00 per month and this fee is collected on your monthly utility bill. 

• Recycling Containers are available to purchase at the Clerk's Office at 100 E Fountain.  The cost is $7.95 per bin.  
• Please have items out for collection by 7:00 AM on your day of collection.
• To help avoid worker injury, garbage containers should have a maximum size of 35 gallons and weight no more than 50 pounds.
• Households with large amounts of waste, such as move outs, which exceed the weekly limit, must rent a dumpster.  Also, construction debris is not considered household waste and must be placed in a dumpster at the homeowner's/occupants expense.  

GARBAGE/RECYCLING SCHEDULE CHANGES DURING HOLIDAY WEEKS

For scheduled collection days that fall on a 2024 holiday, the pick up will occur one day later.

• Wednesday Collection:
  • Memorial Day collection will be on Thursday, May 30th
  • Labor Day collection will be on Thursday, September 5th
  • Christmas collection will be on Thursday, December 26th
• Thursday Collection:
  • Memorial Day collection will be on Friday, May 31st
  • Independence Day collection will be on Friday, July 5th
  • Labor Day collection will be on Friday, September 6th
  • Thanksgiving collection will be on Friday, November 29th
  • Christmas collection will be on Friday, December 27th
• Friday Collection:
  • Memorial Day collection will be on Saturday, June 1st
  • Independence Day collection will be on Saturday, July 6th
  • Labor Day collection will be on Saturday, September 7th
  • Thanksgiving collection will be on Saturday, November 30th
  • Christmas collection will be on Saturday, December 28th

CLEAN UP DAYS

• Spring Clean Up is Scheduled for May 1st- 4th
• Fall Clean Up Days are scheduled for October 2nd - 5th
