Clerk/Treasurer

The City Clerk/Treasurer directs and coordinates the activities of a number of functions including maintenance of public records and archives, elections, licensing, legal notices, all meeting procedures, and minutes. Some of the financial duties include first installment tax collection, budget prep, and audit reporting.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Publicizing, filing, indexing, and safekeeping of all proceedings of the Common Council;
  • Responsible for all election duties as required by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.
  • Keeps and maintains all election records and is responsible for all property used in connection with the holding of elections.
  • Publishes all required legal notices.
  • Files and preserves all contracts, bonds, oaths of office and other documents not required to be filed elsewhere.
  • Issues all licenses required by ordinance or state statute.
  • Custodian of the official city seal.
  • Prepares the tax roll and tax notices as required by Wisconsin Statutes.
  • Directing and coordinating the collection of Real and Personal Property Tax payments
  • Supervises utility payment collection, finance, payroll, and human resources
