Building Permit - Residential Additions and Remodels

Building Addition

Additions and remodel projects also require a building permit.  This includes but is not limited to:

  • Additions
  • Alterations
  • Detached garages
  • Fences
  • Decks

A few projects DO NOT require a building permit.  Those include the replacements of:

  • Roofs
  • Furnaces
  • Electrical Fixtures
  • Plumbing Fixtures
  • Sidewalk Installation
  • Retaining Walls
Issuance of BUILDING PERMIT

After your plans and application have been accepted, the plans will be reviewed for compliance with the building code if applicable and the City zoning ordinances. For most projects you will receive a permit site card for posting at the project site. Conditions of approval may be included depending on the project.

iNSPECTIONS

Request Inspections before anything is covered up. For things like fences where nothing is covered up, just a final inspection needs to be done in order to close out the permit.
