Dodgeville Police Department Uniform Patch

Mission:  To protect and serve, in partnership with our community, through integrity and compassion.

The Dodgeville Police Department is located in Central Iowa County. Our jurisdiction covers 3.6 square miles, including 34 miles of roads.  We serve approximately 5038 residents as well as the citizens that travel through and work in Dodgeville, which includes Lands' End, one of the largest employers in Southwest Wisconsin.  The Dodgeville Police Department is comprised of 10 sworn officers, including the Chief and Lieutenant.  We have a shared administrative assistant position and part-time officers to carry out our mission.  We are a 24/7 department with full time dispatch being performed by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department.

Goals and Objectives

1. protect constitutional guarantees for all persons;
2. provide a feeling of security in the community;
3. engage in behaviors that reduce the opportunities for the commission of crime;
4. aid individuals who are in danger of harm and assist those individuals who cannot advocate for themselves;
5. resolve conflicts;
6. identify criminal offenders and activity and, where appropriate, apprehend offenders and participate in subsequent court proceedings;
7. identify community problems that potentially impact law enforcement or local government;
8. facilitate the movement of people and vehicles; and
9. provide additional police services to the community as identified.
