Know the Rules

The following rules apply at the Gary C. Comer Pool:

  • Please sign in at the front desk to be admitted to the pool and show your season pass (if applicable).
  • Due to liability coverage, everyone entering the pool must pay admission, even if they are not planning on swimming or getting into the water.
  • Children must be at least 8 years old AND have the ability of a Level 3 swimmer to be at the pool without adult supervision.  (If you are unsure of what level or swimming ability your child is, a swim test will be conducted verifying the child is able to swim one length of the pool without touching and a one minute tread/float.)
  • No running
  • No glass permitted on pool property
  • Shower before using pool and after using rest rooms
  • No open cuts, sores, rash, infection or contagious diseases allowed in the pool area
  • Long hair must be pulled back in a ponytail
  • No pets
  • No smoking/ vaping/ tobacco/ alcohol or other drugs
  • No older kids in the wading pool
  • Lap lane is for lap swimmers only
  • Swim diaper required for swimmers not bathroom trained
  • Swim suit or swim clothes required
  • No food/drink on pool deck; No gum
  • No hanging on boards, ropes, or ladders
  • One bounce on boards
  • No flips from boards
  • Must jump from white ledge
  • No running jumps.
  • No riding on shoulders.
  • No rough play, splashing, spitting water or towel snapping.
  • No diving in water less than 5 ft deep.
  • It must be 65 degrees or above, at time of opening, for the pool to open.
  • Toys not allowed in deep end
  • No diaper changing on the pool deck
  • No flotation devices of any kind allowed, except by managerial discretion due to special needs
  • One person at a time on slide and diving board

Staff retains the right to ask patrons to exit the facility if they are not abiding by pool rules; this is up to guard discretion.
