Your Vote Matters

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION ON NOVEMBER 5, 2024

  1. WHEN IS EARLY VOTING?
    Early "Absentee" Voting begins Tuesday, October 22 and runs through Friday, November 1st.  By law, there is NO VOTING OR REGISTRATION on Monday, November 4th.  This day is used to prepare for Tuesday's election.
     
  2. CAN I STILL REGISTER TO VOTE?
    If you moved prior to October 8th, you can still register to vote for the General Election at your new address.  If you moved after October 8th, you'll want to use your former address for voting or request an absentee from that municipality.  You may register to vote by mail or online at MyVote up until October 16th.  After October 16th, all voter registrations must occur in person at the Clerk's Office (100 E Fountain St).
     
  3. CAN I STILL REQUEST AN ABSENTEE BALLOT?
    Yes.  We recommend making your request ASAP so there is time to mail and return your ballot.   Using MyVote is the quickest way to make this request - we receive the request almost immediately. 
     
  4. CAN I USE THE DROP BOX TO RETURN ABSENTEE BALLOTS?
    Yes.  The utility drop box in front of City hall may also be used to return your ballot.
     
  5. WHAT ARE VOTING HOURS ON ELECTION DAY?
    Voting Hours on Tuesday, November 5th are from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM
