Operator's (Bartenders) Licenses

Per Wisconsin Law, an Operator's or "Bartender's" License is issued to an individual to serve alcoholic beverages at a retail or permitted premise.  To receive a license, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have been convicted of a felony or be a habitual law offender
  • Must have successfully completed an approved responsible beverage server training course within the last two years. (Not required for renewal licenses).
  • Pay the appropriate fee for the type of operator license applied for
    • $50 - 2 year
    • $30 - 1 year
    • $10 for a Temporary
